SHAWN AMBROSINO

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Coach

Shawn’s journey to becoming a black belt in martial arts has been a long one – starting at the age of 11, all the way up through the age of 41 with plenty of stops along the way. Trying his hand at karate, high school wrestling and tae kwon do along the way – he ended up in the fast-paced, high profile world of professional wrestling – spending well over a decade in sports entertainment.  While professional wrestling was fun – it didn’t quench the competitive fire inside. It wasn’t until he discovered Brazilian Jiu Jitsu that he found his TRUE passion. BJJ quickly became a passion and he put 100% of his energy into learning as much as he could. His dedication would pay off, as just under 8 years of doing the sport, a lot of mat time and a World Championship at Brown Belt – Shawn received his black belt in 2014 under Master Manoel Soares.

Since receiving his black belt in 2014 – Shawn has become a highly sought after coach – building a reputation of being able to teach the fundamentals of BJJ and building champions. His students have won numerous tournaments with his help and dedication. One of the secrets to his teaching style is his laid back and open approach – not denying his students anything – as he strongly believes in allowing students to grow at their speed.
